K12 Makers In NE Indiana

Presented by the Schwab Foundation and Indiana's  Region 8

Welcome To The Indiana Makers Space For Education

The "Making Possibilities for Students of Northeast Indiana Initiative"  allows the Northeast Indiana community to contemplate what it would be like if every school had a Makerspace that was part of the school curriculum. It allows the community to dream and build on the possibilities for essential 21st century skill development and significant content skill alignment. It allows for the idea of student engagement, flow, grit, perseverance, problem solving, revision, reflection, and satisfaction in an amazing space. The Making Possibilities for Students of NE Indiana Initiative allows creation of spaces that promote these ideas in schools across Northeast Indiana. These spaces may be in individual classrooms, in libraries, or in existing unused areas. The possibilities could occur during school, or before and after the school day. In the future, this could lead to the establishment of Makerspaces in community centers or even a mobile lab. These spaces will provide students opportunities to engage in explorations that include robotics, computer programming, 3D Printing, electricity and circuits, artistic creations, invention, CAD, engineering, music, model and prototyping, entrepreneurship, and so much more. Imagine the possibilities!
